About This Tour
The Bhutan Mountain Biking Expedition is a highly adventurous tour for the cycling freak lovers, nature lover and cyclist who likes to enjoy an active tour in the hills. The journey is 6 days long, which takes one through the routes of scenic mountain roads, peaceful valleys, lush forests, traditional villages and historic monasteries with breathtaking landscapes of the Himalayan mountains. Ride through the beautiful towns of Paro, Thimphu and Punakha, get to visit Bhutan's rich Buddhist heritage, enjoy its cleanliness and hospitality. Day-1 Arrival Paro and Travel to Thimphu
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, a representative will welcome you with a warm smile and help you in transferring you to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. The beautiful drive along gorgeous rivers, green valleys and lovely villages provides a great introduction to the green and peaceful landscapes of Bhutan. Once you get to the hotel, settle back, rejuvenate and stroll through the markets of Thimphu in the evening. Shop at traditional crafts shops, meet with the locals and relax in the serenity of the city. Your ranger/guiding staff member will give a summary of the mountain biking expedition, safe guidelines, and cycling trails outlined for the next few days. Overnight accommodation at Thimphu.

Day-2 Thimphu Sightseeing
In the morning, after breakfast, visit some of the attractions of Thimphu. Visit the iconic and revered Memorial Chorten – one of Bhutan's cherished religious sites, then head to the majestic Buddha Dordenma with its wonderful panoramic vista that offer around the Thimphu Valley. Head to the awesome Tashichho Dzong, a home of high ranked government offices and Buddhist monasteries. Later, you'll participate in your first mountain biking session, listed along with the scenic road roads around the city of Thimphu. Experience the fresh mountain air as you pass through peaceful villages, pine forests, prayer flags and then beautiful farmlands. There is a view to making this a pleasant cycling journey with ample opportunity for photographers to park for a bit and savour the natural surroundings. Come back to your hotel in the late afternoon/evening which is a very enjoyable day of sightseeing and biking. Overnight accommodation at Thimphu.

Day-3 Explore Punakha
After breakfast, the first of the most exciting days of the Bhutan Mountain Biking Expedition starts out on the mountain bike as you set off towards the magnificent Dochula Pass at an altitude of more than 3100 metres. Along the way are dense forests of pine and rhododendron, and splendid vistas of the mountain peaks of the Himalayas. When the sun is shining, the snow-covered peaks make for stunning backdrops to unforgettable photos!
Enjoy a peaceful day of the Dochula Pass, and view the famous 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens. Follow the path as you ride on the beautiful Punakha Valley, winding through Bhutanese local villages, terraced rice fields and flowing rivers. On arrival in Punakka visit to the hotel; a day of adventure is over. One night accommodation in Punakha.

Day-4 Punakha Mountain Biking & Sightseeing
After Breakfast take a relaxed tour in the beautiful Punakha countryside by mountain biking. Follow quiet village streets in beautiful river scenery, lush valleys and farmland, suspension bridges. The path is not too complicated for cycling and can be done at a leisurely speed, so as to enjoy Bhutan's natural beauty without the hassle.
Later came to visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan's most impressive fortresses beautifully located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu & Mo Chhu rivers. Stroll through serene rice fields to Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility) which is surrounded by picturesque rural landscapes. Before you head back to your hotel, relax for a maximum of a couple of hours and wander through the various local villages and meet local friendly folk. Accommodation at Punakha in the night.

Day-5 Travel to Paro from Punakha
Once you enjoy your breakfast, take several scenic drives back to Paro, appreciating the beautiful mountain scenes, forests and valleys along the way. If you come to Paro, book a room in your hotel and unwind before heading to some of the many attractions of Paro.
Visit the magnificent Paro Dzong, whose architectural splendor and significance stand in amazing contrast to those of Bhutan. Later, stop at the National Museum of Bhutan which has interesting exhibits related to the history, traditions, art and heritage of Bhutan. Come to Paro village for a duskwalk where you can buy traditional handcrafted beautiful items, local souvenirs or local handmade products. 2 nights' accommodation in Paro.

Day-6 Departure from Paro
Post breakfast, check out from the Hotel and depart for the airport, Paro for onward travel. The final moments of your journey on Bhutan Mountain Bikes will be full of incredible experiences – picturesque trails, tranquil valleys, Himalayan mountains, quaint monasteries and welcoming people of Bhutan.
