Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the most beautiful treks in the Himalaya of Nepal, leading to the Annapurna Sanctuary. It combines a variety of forests, villages, farms and snow-covered mountains such as Annapurna.This 10-day trek is perfect for those who love nature and prefer a moderate trek with beautiful views of the mountains and exposure to the local culture of Gurung and Magar people.

From bustling cities to serene landscapes, each day has been thoughtfully planned to provide memorable experiences, local interactions, and seamless travel across destinations.

  • Day-1 Day 1: Fly into Pokhara - Trek Briefing +

    Fly into Pokhara and check into your lakeside hotel. Once checked in, relax and unwind from your flight and enjoy the serene surroundings with views of Phewa Lake and the hills.Later, have a meeting with your trekking guide. The guide will provide you with the map, altitude control, safety, weather, and packing list. You can also sort out your trekking equipment here. Stay in Pokhara.
     

  • Day-2 Day 2: Pokhara to Nayapul - Trek to Tikhedhunga +

    In the morning I will drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (trek starting point). Now start your trekking journey in beautiful surroundings. You will cross rivers, pass by villages, suspension bridges, and fields of rice. You will then enter the Annapurna foothills area. Finally, in the late afternoon, enter the peaceful village of Tikhedhunga, surrounded by hills and waterfalls. Stay overnight at a teahouse at Tikhedhunga.
     

  • Day-3 Day 3: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepan +

    It will be a steep uphill climb with long stone steps and through forests. Trek through rhododendron and oak forests (most vibrant in spring). You will get to see small villages and far-off Himalayan peaks. You will arrive at Ghorepani, a picturesque mountain town with great views and cool weather. Stay in a teahouse at Ghorepani.
     

     

  • Day-4 Day 4: Ghorepani - Sunrise at Poon Hill & Trek to Tadapani +

    Wake up and hike to Poon Hill, a popular tourist destination. Experience a breathtaking sunrise over the Himalaya, with views of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Machapuchare ranges. Back to Ghorepani for breakfast and continue trekking through rhododendron and forest, enjoying the wildlife. In the afternoon, arrive in Tadapani, a serene village with views of the mountains and forests. Stay at Tadapani.

  • Day-5 Day 5: Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong +

    The trek starts with a descent into the valley through forests and crossing small rivers. Once you reach the valley floor, begin to ascend to Chhomrong. Chhomrong is a picturesque Gurung village and the entrance to the Annapurna Sanctuary. This is the place where you get a better view of the Machapuchare (Fishtail) Mountain. Stay at Chhomrong in a teahouse.
     

  • Day-6 Day 6: Chhomrong to Bamboo +

    Walk down some stone steps to cross the river and then climb steeply through thick bamboo groves. As you move into the sanctuary area, you feel more relaxed and immersed in nature. Reach Bamboo, a village in dense foliage and silence. Stay in a teahouse at Bamboo.

  • Day-7 Day 7: Bamboo to Deurali +

    Trekking through forests, waterfalls and valleys of rivers. The path is more challenging and mountainous as you ascend. You will come across Hinku Cave and other viewpoints on the way to Deurali. It will get colder and more dramatic as you see the walls of the mountain. Stay at Deurali.Day 8: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp via Machapuchare Base Camp
    Today is one of the most memorable days. Enter the Annapurna Sanctuary, with views of massive Himalayan peaks. First, head towards Machapuchare Base Camp, with its panoramic view of the sacred Fishtail Mountain. After that, head for Annapurna Base Camp. Here you will stand in a natural amphitheater surrounded by huge peaks such as Mount Annapurna. This is a truly spectacular view.Stay night at ABC in the teahouse.
     

  • Day-8 Day 9: Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo +

    Rise early to enjoy a spectacular sunrise over Annapurna. The sunrise reflecting on the snow is the best part of the trip. Return back via the same trail, down through Deurali and forests to Bamboo village. Stay overnight in a teahouse at Bamboo.
     

     

  • Day-9 Day 10: Bamboo to Jhinu - Pokhara +

    Walk downhill to Jhinu Danda, a favourite spot for hot springs (optional visit). Soak in the hot springs by the river. Then drive back to Pokhara to head back to your hotel. You end your Annapurna Base Camp trek with wonderful memories, views and experiences of the Himalayas.

FAQ's

The trek is of moderate difficulty and is ideal for beginners with a good level of fitness. It requires 5-7 hours of walking per day, with some uphill and downhill gradients, but there is no climbing involved.

March to May and September to November are the ideal times, as the weather is good, and you can see Mount Annapurna and other peaks.

You don't require any previous trekking experience. But basic training such as walking, running or hiking is recommended for improved stamina.

The highest altitude is Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters, with amazing views of the Himalayan peaks.

Yes, it's a popular and safe trek. As long as you have a good guide, take time to acclimatize, and take normal precautions, it's safe.️
