• Day-1 Arrival in Delhi +

  Enter Delhi, where you will be received and then taken to Mandawa, a historical town in the Shekhawati area of Rajasthan. Mandawa has a reputation of painted havelis and history of merchants, which provides a disorientation between the urban world and rural India. Once you have settled in a heritage haveli, you can go on an evening stroll along the village lanes and see traditional houses, cattle sheds and community wells. Mingle with the locals and study about rural habits. Have a typical Rajasthani meal. Overnight stay in Mandawa.

   

• Day-2 Mandawa - Village Strolls and Village Traditions +

  Spend the morning of the day wandering about the villages around. Meet local artisans producing pottery, block print and metalwork in ancient techniques.

  Take part in a practical cooking experience with a village family, and get to know how the traditional meals are made using food grown in the village. Agricultural practices or visit to a village school or a community center in the afternoon. The folk music and telling of the stories in the evening also give the local history and values. • Day-3 Bishnoi Village - Pushkar Rural Belt +

  Rise in the morning after breakfast, go to the Bishnoi villages, where the environmental ethics and wildlife conservation practices are strongly embedded. Get to know about the Bishnoi lifestyle, their respect to the nature and traditions of sustainable life. Go on to the rural periphery of Pushkar, a holy town with agricultural settlements all around. Book into a rural resort, and have a peaceful evening of watching village life, temple bells, and sunset scenes of farm land. Overnight stay near Pushkar.

   

• Day-4 Pushkar Rural and Community Life +

  You can start the day by visiting local farms, where you will engage in a few activities like milking cows, feeding livestock, harvesting crops, etc. depending on the time of the year. Subsequently, visit local markets and meet with village elders, who tell oral histories and folk traditions. visit a small cultural workshop in the afternoon, whether it is pottery or textile weaving or folk art, depending. • Day-5 Jaipur - Departure +

  Have breakfast, go out to the country round Jaipur, past mustard-fields and country hamlets. Make small stops at a village on the way to see the traditional ways of harvesting water and villages. Lunch and then proceed to Jaipur or Delhi. The tour ends with great memories of real village life and human relations.
