• Day-1 Kochi- Arrival - Kumbalangi Village +

  You are picked up at the airport in Kochi International Airport and then taken to Kumbalangi which is the first eco-tourism village in India. The excursion is a brief tour of the waterways, palm trees, and village scenery of Kerala. Arrive and stay at a village homestay or eco-lodge. During the evening, do a guided village tour to see Chinese fishing nets, mangroves, and every day Chinese lifestyle in the canals. It serves dinner made of locally grown foodstuffs. Kumbalangi overnight stay.

• Day-2 Fishing Culture and Village experiences in Kumbalangi +

  Spend the day after breakfast in Kumbalangi learning about the fishing culture of this region. Observation of the traditional crab farming, prawn farming and education on sustainable fishing practices. Visitors can engage in such basic village tasks as coconut leaf weavery or a local meal preparation. During the afternoon, have a peaceful canoe ride through small canals with palm shades. The evening is free in order to relax. Overnight and dinner in Kumbalangi.

• Day-3 Kumbalangi to Marari - Village Coastal life +

  Breakfast after which proceed to the Marari, a peaceful village on the coast but not on the beach. Arrive and stay at a guesthouse in a heritage style or a beachside village.

  Spend the afternoon on the lanes of the village, seeing fishermen haul up their haul, and noting every day life on the seashores. It would be a good night to enjoy a leisurely sunset stroll on a peaceful coast. Overnight stay in Marari.

   

• Day-4 Marari - Village Traditions and Relaxation +

  Start the day with the unhurried breakfast. Then go out to the villages nearby and learn about coir-making, toddy tapping and the local boatbuilding. Afternoon is at liberty to unwind - read, swim, or partake of Ayurvedic-assisted wellness (optional). Spend an evening having a home style dinner with the Kerala coastal food. Overnight stay in Marari.

   

• Day-5 Marari to Kumarakom - Backwater Village Life +

  Breakfast and subsequently drive to Kumarakom which is on the banks of Vembanad Lake. Stay in a homestay or heritage house on the backwater.

  During the afternoon, you will be taken on a traditional canoe ride through village canals, through paddy fields, churches, and temples. Explore the agricultural method peculiar to the area below the sea. Leisure time in the evening by the water. Overnight stay in Kumarakom.

   

• Day-6 Kumarakom to Vaikom - Community Life and Temples +

  Travel to Vaikom, an ancient temple town with a spiritual ambience and relaxing village life after breakfast. Pay visit to Vaikom Mahadeva Temple and visit other villages in the area on foot/by bicycle. Mingle with the locals and watch the natives performing their traditional rituals and community events. There is free time in the evening to ponder and rest. Overnight stay in Vaikom.

   

• Day-7 Departure - Kochi back +

  You can have a relaxing breakfast and then, drive back to Kochi Airport or Railway Station and continue your journey. The tour ends in the remembrance of the tranquil villages, the hospitability and the eternal rural beauty of Kerala.
