About Bandhavgarh

Bandhavgarh is one of the most popular wildlife safari spots in Madhya Pradesh, known as the “Land of Tigers” due to its abundance of tigers, extensive forests, ancient forts and astounding biodiversity. Bandhavgarh is located in the Vindhya Hills of the Umaria district and is part of one of the most famous Tiger Conservation landscapes in India, home to the magnificent Bandhavgarh National Park. It has a rich history and is associated with the mythical and historical Bandhavgarj Fort. It is a wonderful landscape of tropical forests, grasslands, rocky hills and water bodies, where Bengal tigers, leopards, sloth bears and deer have their natural habitat, along with various bird species. Bandhavgarh is also famous for ancient temples, prehistoric caves and natural beauty apart from its famous wildlife. From enjoying thrilling jungle safaris and spotting majestic tigers to exploring ancient forts and discovering the region's rich wildlife, Bandhavgarh offers an unforgettable nature and adventure experience.

Best Time to Visit Bandhavgarh

The months from October to March are a delightful period to explore Bandhavgarh, with wonderful weather and comfortable conditions for enjoying wildlife encounters, nature trails and other attractions. Birdwatching and enjoying the beautiful forest landscapes are best in winter. April to June is also a popular time for tiger safaris as the weather is warmer, which also means that the animals are often closer to the water, making them easier to spot. Enjoying lush vegetation and rejuvenating the forests, the monsoon season (July – September) is the time when the majority of the safari areas are closed to visitors for the breeding season and for park management operations. Availability and opening dates of safaris can change from zone to zone and from season to season.
