A few comments :

In order to better respect local traditions and cu lture, and also minimize the distractions of sadhana during your budget India tour, we particularly recommend that you adhere to the dress code, whether you are on balconies, in the garden or on the roof.

As a rule, some parts of the body should be well covered, ie the chest, shoulders, belly and legs. These indications are valid for both men and women. It is also better to avoid sportswear and tight tops such as vests or leggings. In order to keep the Sattvic energy higher, it is advisable to wear white or light-colored clothing as much as possible. For your information, the Ashram does not provide toiletries or towels. That's why you have to include them in your luggage.

Some visits and experiences recommended during your stay Yoga in India including Rishikesh:

  • Visit the city and its temples and Ram and Laxman Jhoolas, two bridges suspended on the river Ganges. The Jhoola Ram connects Shivanand Ashram on the eastern shore with Swargashram to the west. Jhoola Laxman is on the site of a rope on which the Hindu god brother Ram would have crossed the Ganges. Guided tours are available for more information on myths related to the temples and Ashram of the city during a tailor-made trip to India.
  • Rafting on the Ganges: a real way to feel the rush on the Ganges. With its tributaries, the river promises impressive and fun rapids. During this activity, you will also admire beautiful landscapes along the river namely ashrams, ghats, suspension bridges, temples and the Himalayan range.
  • Visit the Vashistha cave which is located 28 km from Rishikesh on the Badrinath highway. In general, it is a place of meditation very popular with Hindus. If the places do not seem to be endowed with speleological interests, they provide a special atmosphere.

A small tour in the Kunjapuri Temple which is located at an altitude of 1,676 meters and about 27 km from the city. It is one of the most revered Hindu sanctuaries in Uttarakhand. From the roof of the temple, one enjoys a magnificent panorama on the Himalayas and the holy cities of Haridwar and Rishikesh.
