  • Day-1 Arrival in Chennai +

    Upon landing in Chennai, you will be met by your tour representative who is going to help you in the transfer to a hotel. Once you check in, you can get time to relax and settle down. Marina Beach is a good location to relax and take a peaceful walk along the shore later on or visit the local markets. The day gives you a peaceful prelude to the trip that is about to be taken as well as giving you time to relax into the cultural ambience of South India. Overnight stay in Chennai.

     

  • Day-2 Chennai - Tirupati +

    Then go to Tirupati to visit one of the most significant pilgrimage sites in India, after breakfast. Go to the holy Tirumala Temple of Lord Venkateswara. Take part in darshan and feel the religious spirit that attracts millions of devotees. Visit the temple and come back to your hotel to rest. Overnight stay in Tirupati.

     

  • Day-3 Tirupati - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram +

    Kanchipuram, home of ancient temples and silk sarees, after breakfast, drive to the location. Tour leading temples of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. Proceed then to Mahabalipuram, a seashore heritage town, which has rock-cut temples and sculptures. See the Shore Temple and the Five Rathas, the primitive Dravidian architecture. Night in Mahabalipuram.

     

  • Day-4 Mahabalipuram - Madurai +

    Breakfast, then on to the airport or railway station and continue on to Madurai (if by road, as planned, otherwise by air). Upon arrival, enter the hotel and have a rest. During the evening, go to the Meenakshi Amman Temple and observe the evening prayer ceremony which is a very spiritual experience. Overnight stay in Madurai.

     

  • Day-5 Madurai - Rameswaram +

    Breakfast and visit Rameswaram, which is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites. Pay a visit to the Ramanathaswamy Temple which is a temple with long corridors and holy water tanks. Traditional rituals and prayers can be done by the devotees here. Then go to Dhanushkodi, a peaceful coastal area that is linked to the story of Ramayana. One night stay in Rameswaram.

     

  • Day-6 Rameswaram - Kanyakumari +

    Breakfast and then drive to Kanyakumari which is the southern most point of India where the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and Indian ocean converge. Pay a visit to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Kanyakumari Temple. Get to enjoy the picturesque landscapes and the serene atmosphere of the coastline. Kanyakumari Overnight stay.

     

  • Day-7 Departure +

    Breakfast after which you get transferred to Trivandrum airport or nearest railway station where you can continue your journey. It ends with the blessings and recollections of the sacred traditions of South India and architectural splendor.

Yes, the itinerary is planned at friendly speed and the travelling distance and the rest time are also sufficient which makes it good among the elderly travellers.

The best period is during the months of October to March as the climate is pleasant. Summers may be hot especially in Tamil Nadu and occasionally precipitation is experienced during monsoon.

Basic darshan is also available but special entry tickets or particular rituals may be ordered at a price.

Simple and conservative clothes are expected. Covered shoulders and legs are necessary in some temples and one must remove his or her shoes before getting inside the temple grounds.
