About This Tour

Pin Parvati Pass Trek is one of the toughest and most rewarding high-altitude treks in Himachal. This 11-day trek leads you through the rainforests of Parvati Valley to the dry and rugged land of Pin Valley, traversing the breathtaking Pin Parvati Pass along the way. It starts in Manali and goes towards Barshaini, the starting point of the trek. The trail then goes through gorgeous forests, falls, green meadows, mountain streams and remote campsites in the Himalaya before reaching the quiet Mantalai Lake.
The high elevation crossing of the Pin Parvati Pass (around 5300m) is one of the great features and highlights of the trek. The pass is a spectacular link between the green Parvati Valley and the barren deserts of the Pin Valley in Spiti. This path then goes down towards the Pin Valley through the hilly and rough terrain, glaciers and remote Himalayan landscape till it reaches the village of Mudh. This walk is especially interesting and picturesque as a contrast between the two valleys. The Pin Parvati Pass Trek is perfect for hardcore trekking enthusiasts and adventure junkies who are seeking a tough trek in the Himalayas that features high altitudes, difficult passes, camping and stunning scenery.

Enjoy the peacefulness of the Himalayan surroundings in the evening.
    Overnight: Tunda Bhuj Campsite

  • Day-3 Tunda Bhuj – Thakur Kuan +

Post-breakfast, head towards Thakur Kuan. The path runs along the Parvati River and through stunning mountain scenery, meadows and rocky areas. As you venture further into the far-off Himalayan wilderness, the terrain gets rougher. Overnight: Thakur Kuan Campsite

  • Day-4 Thakur Kuan – Odi Thach +

After breakfast, begin the trek towards Odi Thach. The route continues through high-altitude landscapes with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. • Day-5 Odi Thach – Mantalai Lake +

The view slowly morphs from green meadows to rocks in a mountain setting. Arrive at the camp near the lake, and relax in the quiet surroundings.
    Overnight: Mantalai Lake Campsite

  • Day-6 Mantalai Lake – Acclimatization and Preparation +

Today is kept for acclimatisation and preparation before crossing Pin Parvati Pass. Following breakfast, visit the area around Mantalai Lake and experience the gorgeous high-altitude landscape. A brief acclimatisation walk around the surrounding area may be possible depending on the weather and conditions on the trail. Overnight: Pin Valley Campsite

  • Day-8 Pin Valley Camp – Mudh Village +

Then head back down, through the breathtaking scenery of Pin Valley. The surrounding landscape is quite different from the green Parvati Valley, with bare mountain peaks, tough mountaineering days, glacier and snow sections, and rocky cliffs. Rocky shoes for ankle trekking, warm layered clothing, thermal wear, waterproof jacket and trousers, gloves, woollen socks, sunglasses, sunscreen, headlamp, water bottle, personal medicines and a rocky everything is dry and cold in high-altitude mountaineering—cliffs, rock, etc. surrounding the trail. Follow the road going to the traditional village of Mudh in Pin Valley. On arrival, enjoy some rest and explore the peaceful village surroundings.
    Overnight: Mudh Village

  • Day-9 Mudh – Manali +

Post-breakfast, proceed towards Manali from Mudh. The drive takes you through the rugged landscapes of Pin Valley and the surrounding Himalayan region. Enjoy the different scenery as you slowly move away from being on high elevations. Continue towards Manali and check into your hotel. Enjoy a pleasant evening after the trek is done.
    Overnight: Manali

  • Day-10 Manali – Local Sightseeing and Leisure +

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed day in Manali. The popular attractions to visit include Hadimba Temple, Manu Temple, Vashisht Village and the local market. Just take some time and explore Mall Road, and enjoy the cafés and shops. The day also gives you a little more flexibility if you have any mountain-road or weather delays while on the trek.
    Overnight: Manali

  • Day-11 Manali Departure +

Depart the hotel after breakfast, as per onward travel itinerary. Put in the place you need to go to the next destination.
