From bustling cities to serene landscapes, each day has been thoughtfully planned to provide memorable experiences, local interactions, and seamless travel across destinations.

• Day-1 Leh Arrival +

  Our guys will be happy to welcome you at the airport, and will drive you to the hotel on arrival. As Leh is basically at a higher elevation, first day is given to rest and acclimatise to the altitude to make your body at ease in the mountain environment. Relax the whole day in the midst of Mother Nature with pristine air, quiet spaces. If you are feeling up to it in the evening then wander about through Leh Market to pick up some Tibetan handicrafts, traditional ladakhi souvenirs, local cafes and colourful markets. Then proceed back to the hotel where you will spend the night in Leh and then dinner.
   

• Day-2 Acclimatization and Leh Sightseeing +

  Have breakfast and take a leisurely drive, to help acclimatize to the environment, around Leh before starting out for the hike. Visit the beautiful Shanti Stupa which can be seen from the top with a view of Leh town and all the mountains of the Himalayas. Proceed on to Leh Palace – a centuries old royal palace, making for a great history lesson. Hike over to the Hall of Fame Museum which is owned by the Indian Army and learn about the history, culture and gallantry of the Indian soldiers. Head to Leh Market or a local café in the evening for a shopping spree, or to unwind – before hitting the hotel again at the end of the evening.

• Day-3 From Leh to Chilling and Skiu +

  Now, trek from Leh to Chilling and Skiu from Chilling. After waking up early in the morning, I drove from Leh to Chilling, the starting point of the famous Markha Valley Trek. The route takes one along the Indus river and provides excellent photographic opportunities of the mountains, traditional villages and some awesome landscapes. On arriving at Chilling, trek towards Skiu (a beautiful village) located at the entrance of Markha Valley. Take strolls in serene nature areas, cross wooden bridges of mountain streams and enjoy the grand view faces to mountain cliffs and valleys. Arrival at Skiu, relax with serene surroundings in the Himalayas and get to your campsite. Overnight in a lovely quiet setting, and hang out with fellow treks with a clear night's sky!
  Lunch and accommodation at the campground (Skiu).
   

• Day-4 Skiu to Markha +

  From here, take off to the picturesque village of Markha along the river sides of the Markha River; through narrow valleys, wooden bridges and traditional Ladakhi villages en route to Markha. Enjoy the great views along the way of the coloured mountains, green fields and grazing yaks. Browse through small villages and get to know the local family and traditional life styles of the people, which live in this remote Himalayan area. This is one of the more fun days of the hike, as it's really quiet and refreshing mountainside air. After arriving at Markha Village, visit the venerable Monastery, the mud-brick houses and unwind at your campsite. The group has dinner and an overnight stay at a campsite, Markha.
   

• Day-5 Markha to Hankar +

  In the morning post breakfast, head on up to one of the highest villages of Markha valley (Hankar). This path slowly ascends past a glorious natural mix of meadows, mountain streams and rocks and showcases breathtaking views of Kang Yatse Peak.
  Take in the quiet mountain scenery, and see an abundance of blue sheep, marmots and other animals that are frequently seen there. Arrive in Hankar and settle yourself at your camp-site, and have a wonderful view of the surroundings. Enjoy the beauty of how the mountain peaks and clear mountain sky during the evening. Over-the-night camping accommodation in Hankar with dinner.
   

• Day-6 Hankar to Nimaling +

  After breakfast, head towards one of the most fine and beautiful high-altitude camp sites in Ladakh – Nimaling. The trail winds through enormous grasslands in the midst of lofty peaks of the Himalayas showcasing panoramic views along the entire way.
  The landscape of Nimaling is known for its peace and quiet and the yaks grazing, this is a good place to relax after the trek. For those with an adventurous streak and a keen eye for photos, the stunning vistas and unique opportunity to take picturesque photos of the mountains is a must-see. Overnight stay at Nimaling Camp.

• Day-7 Nimaling to Shang Sumdo (via Kongmaru La Pass) +

  After an early morning breakfast start this most exciting portion of your trek and cross the famous Kongmaru La Pass (over 5200m). This climb is well rewarded with fantastic panoramic views of the Zanskar mountains as well as the Karakoram mountain range. Once up on top, capture some photos, enjoy the incredible views and then head down into the dramatic gorges, colourful rock formations and beauty of mountain valleys towards Shang Sumdo. After one of the best trekking trails in Ladakh, take it easy as you reach Shang Sumdo. Dinner and overnight accommodation at camp.
   

• Day-8 Exiting Shang Sumdo +

  After an early morning breakfast start this most exciting portion of your trek and cross the famous Kongmaru La Pass (over 5200m). This climb is well rewarded with fantastic panoramic views of the Zanskar mountains as well as the Karakoram mountain range. Once up on top, capture some photos, enjoy the incredible views and then head down into the dramatic gorges, colourful rock formations and beauty of mountain valleys towards Shang Sumdo. After one of the best trekking trails in Ladakh, take it easy as you reach Shang Sumdo. Dinner and overnight accommodation at camp.
   

   

• Day-9 Exiting Shang Sumdo +

  Post breakfast, drive to Leh via beautiful roads of the mountains, where you are able to enjoy the last glimpses of beauty that the Himalayas has to offer you. On arrival check in your hotel and spend the rest of the day in a relaxed manner. Spend time in the town's Leh Market for some last minute shopping, unwind at local cafes or simply soak up the atmosphere after spending time trekking. Buy prayer flags, jewellery and handicrafts (souvenirs); as a reminder of your journey. Overnight stay in Leh and dinner. 
   

• Day-10 Departure from Leh +

  Upon having breakfast, walk out of your hotel and head to the Leh Airport from where you relish your onward journey. At the end of your Markha Valley Trek Expedition, you will be left with great stories to tell about the amazing landscapes, tranquil villages, ancient monasteries, high passivals and the most rewarding trekking experience in the Himalayas.
