Dharamshala
Dharamshala is a scenic hill town in the foothills of the Dhauladhar mountain range in Himachal Pradesh that is popular for its natural beauty, Tibetan culture, monasteries and calm mountain vibes. The city can be subdivided roughly into lower Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj, the former part of which is the home of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and an important centre of Tibetan culture and Buddhism outside Tibet. Dharamshala is nestled between pine trees, snow-capped mountains, waterfalls and valleys and is an ideal place for travellers looking for spirituality, adventure, nature and relaxation. It has the Namgyal Monastery, Tsuglagkhang Complex, Tibetan Museum, Bhagsunag Temple and scenic Trekking of Triund. Dharamshala is also famous for Tibetan handicrafts, woollens, prayer flags, traditional paintings, Tibetan and Himachali dishes and coffee shops. With its monasteries, mountain villages, the Dhauladhar ranges and the spectacular Himalayan views, it's a wonderfully unique mix of spirituality, culture, adventure and natural beauty in Dharamshala.
