The beach is situated in North Goa and, during the 1960s, gained international renown as a hippie spot and has since acquired a unique musical, nightlife, artistic, café and relaxed beach ambience. Palm trees, rock cliffs and picturesque areas of the Arabian Sea line the beach. The Anjuna Flea Market, held every Wednesday, is especially renowned for its flea market stalls selling clothing, jewellery, handicrafts, souvenirs, artworks and local products. It's also very much linked to Goa's electronic music and alternative nightlife scene.
The rocky landscape and the sea provide a picturesque backdrop, particularly during sunset hours, around which Anjuna's coastline is especially attractive. It is surrounded by beach shacks, cafés, restaurants and boisterous nightlife spots, and is one of the more lively places in North Goa. Nowadays, the beach at Anjuna, with its relaxed vibe, shopping opportunities, music, nightlife and Goa's alternative culture, is a popular destination for tourists. It is a great place for those who want to see the coastal beauty, enjoy flea markets, take photos, listen to live music, party and have a taste of one of the most famous beach communities in Goa.

Best Time to Visit Anjuna Beach

November to February is when the weather is typically fine and dry, making it the best time to visit Anjuna Beach. It is a great time of the year to visit the beach, visit the flea market, take in the music and experience Anjuna's nightlife.
The months of March to May are warm and damp, but may be good for those who don't like a lot of crowds. While the surrounding landscape is lush and green during the monsoon season (June – September), the heavy rainfall and rougher seas make this period less ideal for swimming and many other activities around the beach.
