  • Day-1 Arrival in Paro and Travel to Thimphu +

    Your arrival at Paro International Airport will be met by our representative who will go out of their way to make you feel welcome and take you to the lovely capital of Bhutan, Thimphu. This picturesque and scenic drive follows the course of the beautiful Paro and Wang Chhu rivers with the chance of seeing traditional villages, lush forests and the picturesque mountain landscapes.
    Arrive in Thimphu, check-in to your hotel and unwind. In the evening take a stroll around the local market place and visit the handicraft shops, traditional Bhutanese textiles and local souvenirs. The capital city is very quiet, and a great way to catch up on the culture and hospitality of Bhutan. One night accommodation in Thimphu.
     

  • Day-2 Thimphu Sightseeing +

    Post breakfast we had a full day sightseeing tour of Bhutan's cultural capital. Pay a visit to one of the most significant Buddhist temples in Bhutan, the National Memorial Chorten, where people from around the town come for prayers and meditation daily. Walk on to the magnificent Buddha Dordenma Statue where you can get an overall view of the Thimphu Valley. The huge statue is one of the world's largest Buddha statues sitting up and is the best for panoramic views. Later, you can visit Tashichho Dzong, an impressive fortress monastery, in which the Government offices and the central monastic body are found. Visit the Folk Heritage Museum and National Institute for Zorig Chusum for an understanding of the traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan. Before going back to the hotel, take some time to look around the local handicraft market. One night accommodation in Thimphu.
     

  • Day-3 Thimphu – Dochula Pass – Punakha +

    After breakfast head towards Punakha via the beautiful Dochula Pass. At more than 3000m, the pass is renowned for its 108 memorial chortens, and its stunning snow-capped Himalayan mountain vistas when the weather is clear. Head towards Punakha, the old capital of Bhutan. Explore the magnificent Punakha Dzong, which is one of the best architectural masterpieces of the country. The fort in the center of the Mekong and Phuong River is known for its beautiful carvings and sacred significance. Later visit the Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility). The temple is situated in a serene and tranquil environment, with rice fields and lush greenery surrounding it. Overnight accommodation at Punakha.
     

  • Day-4 Punakha and Wangdue Phodrang Excursion +

    Following breakfast enjoy a relaxed tour around Punakha & neighbouring Wangdue Phodrang. See Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, graced by its scenic setting in a ridge, overlooking the valley. It was restored after a fire, but is one of the most historic monasteries in Bhutan.
    Climb through picturesque villages, traditional Bhutanese houses, up and down the terraced fields and prayer flags adorning the countryside. Explore and visit local temples and monasteries where monks follow the centuries old Buddhist tradition. Take time to relax and unwind in a quiet atmosphere, meet the locals and take in Bhutan's traditional ways. In the evening head back to Punakha. Stay at Punakha for the night.
     

  • Day-5 From Punakha to Paro Travel +

    In the morning head back to Paro, soaking in the beauty of the Himalayan scenery and roads strewn with pine trees. Arrive and check in to your hotel, before visiting one of Bhutan's most iconic fortresses, the Paro Rinpung Dzong. Colorful murals and pretty courtyards, as well as impressive architecture make it an unforgettable experience in the culture.
    For more information visit the National museum of Bhutan, which is located within the old watch tower “Ta Dzong”. There are collections of important Buddhist art and artefacts, relics, ancient weapons, manuscripts, traditional costumes and historical artifacts that can be shown at the museum. In the evening visit the town of Paro to wander through the town, making purchases of locally produced handicrafts, textiles and souvenirs.
    On arrival in Paro, there is a provision of overnight stay.
     

  • Day-6 Explore Tiger's Nest Monastery and Kyichu Lhakhang +

    Come and enjoy one of Bhutan's memorable experiences in the early morning after breakfast visiting the legendary Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest Monastery). This is the most sacred monastery site of Bhutan, which is situated in a dramatic position that hovers over the Paro Valley around 900 metres high above. Have a casual walk to enjoy a quiet time and beautiful scenery of the mountains. Once you have come back from the monastery, visit one of Bhutan's oldest and holiest Buddhist temples, Kyichu Lhakhang which dates back to the 7th century. It's an important spiritual center with tranquility and beauty in the grounds.

The period between October – November and March – May is the best time to visit Bhutan as the weather is enjoyable, there are the views of the mountains and festivals like Tshechu are held which makes sightseeing and visiting the monasteries more pleasurable for visitors.

Tiger's Nest Monastery is a moderate walk (about an hour and a half - two hours) uphill. The route is suitable for most travelers of average fitness level with the option to hold up and solve.The trek is fairly easy for most fitness persons to finish at their leisurely pace. There are horses available for half of the trail for those who wish to have extra assistance.
