The Keoladeo Ghana National Park

By Air: The closest and most convenient airport is Delhi Airport, about 5-6 hours from the park.

By Rail: Well connected to major Indian cities such as Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Mumbai by regular passenger trains. However, Bharatpur railway station is only 6 km away from the aviary.

By Road: There are superb roads and services to all major cities in Rajasthan and some opposite states like Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Bharatpur is also well connected by road to Delhi (155 km), Agra (55 km) and Jaipur (nearly 176 km).

When is the best time to go to Keoladeo Park?

Since the temperature reaches a maximum of 48 degrees centigrade in summer, from May to June, and about 5 degrees centigrade in winter, from December to February, the easiest time to get to Keoladeo Park is between the months of October and March.

Fees for safari and other fees

The most simple view of the birds is often seen during the rickshaw ride. But for travelling deep into the jungle, the jeep safari is the most distinctive and therefore the best choice.

Scheduled safari hours start at 6 am and end at 6 pm in the evening. Game safari fees are 25 rupees for Indians and 200 rupees for foreigners. Photographic cameras are allowed for 200 rupees and private vehicles up to Shanti Kutir for 50 rupees.

Renting bicycles is 100 rupees per day. The rental of a Rickshaw is 100 rupees per hour.

The fee for a guide is Rs 250.

Important Guidelines for Visitors

During the summer, light cotton clothing should be worn and in winter, light woollen clothing is essential.

Bring along litres of water, energy drink and rehydration drink to eliminate exhaustion from the body.

Just follow the instructions in your guide.

Maintain silence and sincerity inside the park.

It is forbidden to smoke and make a fire inside the park.

Do not dispose of garbage in the park.

Weapons are strictly prohibited inside the park.

It is strictly forbidden to wear precious ornaments and jewellery inside the park.

While on a jeep safari, it is forbidden to leave the vehicle except in the areas designated for this purpose.

Photographic cameras are allowed inside the park, but the use of flashlights is prohibited.

It is not allowed to carry any type of musical instrument or music player inside the park so as not to disturb the fauna and flora.
