Akshardham

Built with 6,000 tonne of pink sandstone from Rajasthan, with none use of steel, the Akshardham Temple stands proudly over a 23-acre area in Gandhinagar. it’s one among the most important temple complexes within the city that invites thousands of devotees per annum . Set amid sprawling gardens, this intricately carved structure is about 108 ft high, and presents a grand sight. Mahudi Jain Temple

One of the foremost sacred Jain pilgrimages, the Mahudi Jain Temple is devoted to Parmaprabhu, the sixth tirthankar (saint) of the Jains. Excavations show that the temple is almost 2,000 years old as do the inscriptions within the Brahmi script. cover a neighborhood of two sq km, this temple was called Madhumati within the past . Legend has it that Acharyadev Buddhi Sagarsurisvarji, a Jain saint, was inspired during a dream to put in the idol of Ghantakarna Mahavir Dev, a warrior king who was called Tungabhadra in his previous birth, in 1923 AD. it’s believed that the idol possesses magical powers. Considered to be the protector of the less fortunate, his idol carries a bow and arrow. Another temple, housing the 22-inch marble idol of Lord Padmaprabhu, lies in close vicinity. The deity is sitting during a lotus posture (padmasana). it’s customary to require a bhoomti (circumambulation) round the 24 shrines of the tirthankaras here.
