Day 01: Chennai (Arrival)

You will take the flight from Paris to the city of Chennai, the capital of Tamil country. You will arrive late in the evening. You will be met at the airport by our representative during this trip to Kerala. You will be transferred to your Vivanta by Taj hotel, Fisherman's Cove. It is located near the beautiful beach of Covelong, south of Chennai. You will spend the night at the hotel.

Day 02: Chennai - Pondichery

In the morning, free time before heading to Mahabalipuram which is an old port of the Pallava dynasty. In this city, you will have the opportunity to visit the five wagons or Rathas dating from the 12th century which are made up of monuments and animals carved in the rock. The adventure for this exceptional journey continues towards the shoreline temple facing the sea.

Free lunch. The luxury Tour  India continues towards the splendid coastal village of Pondicherry. This former French counter proves to be a pleasant stopover by the sea with its living environment of yesteryear. In the city center, you will have to discover the Ganesh temple. Then you will be staying at the hotel La Villa, a former colonial building of the 19th century very well restored.

Day 03: Pondicherry

Visit the city to explore its magnificent avenues, residential neighborhoods known for its whitewashed walls and streets with French names. Then, a small detour into an Ashram to discover what is a spiritual revival center. Visit of a Hindu temple, a temple of South India. The Pondicherry Museum is also a must with its splendid collection of sculptures from the Pallava and Chola dynasties. There are also Greek jars of rare bronzes and also objects from the site of Arikamedu, a former trading port.

Day 04: Pondicherry - Madurai

Head to Chennai Airport before flying to Madurai.

You will then be greeted at the airport before transferring to the Gateway Hotel Pasumalai Madurai. In the evening, a short walk to get a glimpse of the city and some temples.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 05: Madurai - Munnar

Exploration of Madurai, cradle of Indian poetry. The visits will be concentrated by the discovery of the impressive Meenakshi Temple with its Dravidian architecture, its porticoes, its halls and its corridors which reach splendid sanctuaries of Shiva and Meenakshi. From dawn to sunset, there are many faithful paying tribute to the deities.

lunch. Departure for the beautiful city of Munnar, a station located at 2,000 altitudes and surrounded by tea plantations.

Dinner . Check in the Spice Tree Hotel in the middle of the mountains. The panorama all around is impregnable

Day 06: Munnar

The day will be devoted to discovering the surroundings of the hotel. Then hike through the surrounding nature and tea plantations. Then, you will take a tour in the Tea Museum which is a real institution in the region. It will be a moment to know the explanations on the good quality of tea harvested at high altitude. Free meals and overnight at the Spice Tree Hotel.

Day 07: Munnar - Backwaters of Kerala

Early departure to the plains and canals of Kerala province. The route will be punctuated by numerous plantations of rubber trees, coffee, fruits and vegetables, pepper and spice gardens. Lunch and boarding a Kettuvallam, a boat built with a long barge of wood that was once used for the transport of rice and floating house. Navigation on the backwaters of Kerala allows you to walk along the rivers, canals and lagoons while observing sumptuous landscapes: rice fields as far as the eye can see, the daily lifestyle of the locals, the traditional houses ... Lunch on board and overnight on a Deluxe Punnamada House Boat in a double cabin

Day 08: Backwaters of Kerala - Kumarakom

Navigation to Kumarakom. Arrive at Kumarakom Lake Resort which is a luxury hotel located in Kottayam. Free time to enjoy the services of the Resort and activities such as water sports on the lake, swimming pools, spa ... Otherwise, it is also interesting to enjoy an Ayurvedic massage, a yoga session and meditation at the level of its beautiful spa. In the afternoon, visit the city of Kottayam by tuk tuk. The city offers a visit to Syriac Orthodox churches like Cheriyapalli built in 1579. There is also the Shiva Temple of Ettumanoor interesting for its wonderful murals that will embellish this luxury trip to South India. Free meals. You will spend the night at Kumarakom Lake Resort in Meandering Pool Villa

Day 09: Kumarakom

Free area to enjoy the activities offered by the Resort. As an option, a short visit to the Philipkutty farm with lunch with a Syriac Christian family. Return to the hotel by boat. In the evening, it is possible to attend a traditional Indian dance Bharata Natyam. Free dinner and overnight at the Resort

Day 10: Kumarakom - Cochin

Return to Cochin with a stop on the Silk and Spice Route between the Arabian Sea and an estuary adorned with islets fringed with coconut palms. This is an old Portuguese and Dutch counter to visit during a trip to Kerala. Cochin promises a cosmopolitan atmosphere with its foreign influences. Visit of the 16th century synagogue and the Dutch Palace. Then, explore the Jewish Quarter and the many colonial houses near the spice market. At the entrance of the port, it is pleasant to observe the famous Chinese fishing nets in the district of Fort Cochin. You will make a detour to St. Francis Xavier Church before enjoying a stroll on the waterfront. Check in  at the Brunton Boatyard Hotel. A room will be available until your departure in the night. Free meal. As an option, a private dinner around the pool with a beautiful view of the harbor entrance. Early evening at the Brunton Boatyard Hotel.

Day 11: Cochin (Departure)

In the night you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight to Paris. Arrival in the afternoon.
