Day 2Delhi – Shekhawati: Mandawa, Alsisar OR Nawalgarh
Start your journey in the Shekhawati region, famous for its majestic havelis. Drive to Alsisar, Mandawa or Nawalharh, depending upon the hotel chosen. Night in the hotel.
Alsisar OR Nawalgarh (depending on your choice of hotel) [Between 240 & 280 Km – 5 to 6 hours]
Visit the villages of Shekhawati: Nawalgarh or Fatehpur, their lively and Colourful Bazaars and some beautiful havelis. Mandawa, a small bustling city; Mahansar, a peaceful village hiding all the treasures of Shekhwati. Night in the hotel.
Day 4Shekhawati – Bikaner
Continue your journey through landscapes which become increasingly desert-like, towards Bikaner, located in the scorching Thar desert. The old city of Bikaner astonishes visitors with its crowded and noisy alleys, and its excessive hustle and bustle. Check in to the hotel. Visit Bikaner and the splendid fortress. Night in the hotel.
Day 5Bikaner – Jaisalmer [330 Km – 7 hours drive]
Long drive to Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is like an oasis in the desert. Arrive in the evening. Overnight in the hotel.
Visit Jaisalmer: walking through the fort, Jain Temples and sumptuous Havelis. Night at the hotel.
Day 7Jaisalmer – Thar Desert ride on a Dromedary (same as the Arabian camel)
Departure by jeep to the dunes in the desert of Thar. On the way, visit the Jain temple of Amarsagar. Lunch in Khuri village. Depart for riding on a dromedary in the middle of the desert. Arrival at the camp at sunset. Dining and overnight at the camp in the dunes.
Day 8Thar Desert riding on Dromedary – Jaisalmer (B/L)
At sunrise, have breakfast and return to Khuri riding on a dromedary via a different route from the day before. Return by jeep to Jaisalmer. Lunch. Free afternoon. Night at the hotel.
Day 9Jaisalmer – Jodhpur [300 Km – 7 hours drive]
Depart in morning for Jodhpur. On arrival, check-in to the hotel. Visit the old city- Clock Tower and Sardar Market. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10Jodhpur – Ghanerao, Narlai OR Jojawar (depending on your choice of hotel) [150 Km – 4 hours drive]
Visit Meherangarh Fort, perched on the top of a hill. Walk through the winding lanes of the blue city. Drive south to the villages of Ghanerao, Narlai or Jojawar. Short trip to Ranakpur and visit the Adinath Jain temple. Night in heritage hotel.
Day 11Ghanerao, Narlai OR Jojawar (depending on where you stay the previous day) – Udaipur [100 Km – 3 hours drive]
Visit the traditional villages. Head to Udaipur through beautiful landscapes of the Mewar Mountains. Check in to the hotel. If you would like to attend a procession in a Hindu temple, visit to the Jagdish temple around 8 pm is suggested. Night in the hotel.
Visit Udaipur, the “Venice of the East” around the Lake Pichola and surrounded by peaks of Aravalli range. A boat ride on Lake Pichola is worth the experience. Visit the City Palace and the commercial lanes. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 13Udaipur – Chittorgarh, Deogarh OR Sardargarh (depending on your choice of hotel) [110 Km –3 hours drive]
Depending on the stage:
Udaipur– Chittorgarh: drive in the direction of Chittorgarh, the ancient capital of the Mewar kingdom. Visit the enormous fortress and its ramparts. Night in the hotel.
Udaipur– Deogarh or Sardargarh: drive north and visit the temples of Nagda, Eklingii and Nathdwara, before taking a small mountain road to visit the huge fortress of Kumbhalgarh. Short drive to Sardarharh or Deogarh. Night in the hotel.
Day 14Chittorgarh, Deogarh OR Sardargarh (depending on where you stay the previous day) – Pushkar [200 Km – 5 hours drive]
Drive to Pushkar, a small peaceful village built around a holy lake, which is also an important place of pilgrimage for Hindus. Arrive at the end of the day. Visit and walk through the village. Night in the hotel.
Day 15Pushkar – Jaipur [175 Km – 3 to 4 hours drive]
Drive to Jaipur, the pink city. Check in to the hotel. Explore, on foot, the lively old city: the City Palace, Hawa Mahal or the ‘Palace of Winds’. Night in the hotel.
In the morning, visit the Amber Fort, the ancient capital since 1728, another Indo-Muslim architectural jewel. In the afternoon, visit the different Bazaars. Night in the Hotel.
Day 17Jaipur – Kesroli OR Bharatpur (depending on your choice of hotel) [140 Km – 2 to 3 hours drive OR 220 Km – 3 to 4 hours drive]
Drive to the old Kesroli fort, in the countryside OR drive to Keoladeo National Park. Check in and night in the hotel.
Day 18Kesroli OR Bharatpur (depending on where you stay the previous day) – Agra [160 Km – 3 to 4 hours drive OR 55 Km – 2 hours drive]
Kesroli or Bharatpur – Agra by road. Stop en route at the ghost town of Fatehpur Sikri, 40 Km west of Agra. Continue drive to Agra. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 19Agra – Delhi [200 Km – 4 hours drive]
In the morning, at sunrise visit the fabulous Taj Mahal, and later visit the Red Fort. In the afternoon, drive to Delhi. Check in and night in the hotel.
