This 15-day tour will introduce you to the inland landscapes of Darjeeling and Sikkim in the Himalayas. It is also an opportunity to get to know many host families, taste their typical dishes, discover their traditions, etc. Here is the detailed itinerary for this tailor made trip to India.

Day 01: Bagdogra – Mirik

Our representative will welcome you in the Sikkim, on your arrival at Bagdogra airport. Then he will introduce you to your guide and driver who will drive you throughout your cheap India tour.

Mirik will be the first destination to discover on this trip. Leaving Bagdogra, you will take the road north to get there. The path goes through hills covered with tea bushes.


Once in Mirik, you will take a trip to a tea garden. Then, you will visit an isolated village in the valleys to meet the locals, try various tea blends, enjoy a green tea massage, etc. Picnic lunch at the edge of a stream in the heart of nature.


If time permits, you will visit Shiva Temple. Perched high, it offers a breathtaking view of the mountain, the hill, the hamlets, etc.

In the evening, you will enjoy the care of a traditional spa and wellness center at the hotel.

Day 02: Mirik

This second day of your trip to India will be dedicated to the second part of Mirik's visit. It will start with a walk in the most famous tea garden in the area to finish with a hike in the nature and picnic in the valley.

This program also includes visits to tea factories if these are not closed. Indeed, there is a season to visit these factories. It is usually between March and November.

Day 03: Mirik - national park of Singalila

Breakfast around 7 am, then meet with your French speaking guide India to explore Singalila National Park. This site offers an excellent point of view to contemplate the highest summits of the world, including Everest and Kangchenjunga. Several trekking tours are available at the park. You will take the one that leads you to Tumling.

To do this, you will first make a hike by jeep (30km), then a hike (11 km of moderate to difficult level). The path passes through the town of Maney Bhanjyang and many tea gardens. From Tumling, you will descend to Gairibans to admire the red pandas, black bears and many endemic birds.

Then, lunch break at a Trekkers shelter in Gairibans. From there, the road climbs about 2 km to the village of Kayakanta. There, a small pavilion awaits you to spend the night.

Day 04: Sandakphu

After breakfast, you will hike to Sandakphu to continue your India tour. It is a 10 km course with slopes ranging from 30 to 45 degrees.

The path goes through a forest of rhododendrons, then the village of Kalepokhri where you will have lunch. From there, a pebbled path leads to Bikebhanjang. From this village, the road climbs steeply to Sandakphu where you will enjoy a breathtaking view of all the snow-capped Kunchenjungha mountain ranges. Arrived on the spot, you will be guided in your room in a small pavilion

Day 05: Sandakphu - Darjeeling

To start this 5th day of your trip to India, what better way to connect with nature? You will not forget to see the first rays of the sun that gently touch the peaks of the vertiginous mountains.

After breakfast, take the road to Darjeeling, one of the oldest mountain resorts in India, aboard a jeep. Once arrived, your guide will help you check in at your hotel.

Day 06: Darjeeling

This 6th day of your tour in India will be dedicated to the exploration of Darjeeling. For this purpose, several programs are planned :

- Ride on a steam train called Toy Train or Darjeeling Himalayan Railway to contemplate the mountains, tea gardens, typical dwellings.

- Visit of the Tibetan refugee center where you will see many families making paintings, jewels, carpets, clothes, etc.

- Visit the Mountaineering Himalayan Institute where you will discover a collection of equipment used during the first climb to Mount Everest by renowned mountaineers like George Mallory.

- Visit Mahakal Temple, the oldest temple dedicated to Shiva.

- Walk to Chowrasta Market which houses several old book and curios shops

Day 07: Darjeeling - Pelling

After breakfast, you will head north towards Pelling, a must for your tailor-made trip to India.

It is a lively tourist destination in Sikkim where you will have an impressive view of the highest peaks of the Great Himalayas.

When you are there, you will visit old monasteries, mythical and legendary waterfalls, sacred lakes and ruins such as those of Rubduntse. Overnight at the hotel in Pelling.

Day 08: Pelling - Darap

To access Darap from Pelling, you will trek through the Sanga Choeling Monastery. The oldest of all monasteries in the state of Sikkim, it is a place of pilgrimage of choice for Buddhists.

The path crosses a thick pine forest where you can see birds before reaching the top of a hill that offers a beautiful panorama of the mountains and the wooded valleys at the bottom. From there, a narrow path leads to Rani Dunga, a sacred site.

You will take a short break before continuing on your way to Darap, a small village in the community of Limboo. Overnight homestay in Darap for a cultural immersion during your tour in India.

Day 09: Darap - Yuksom

Early in the morning, meet with your French speaking guide to India to go to Yuksom. At the foot of Mount Pandim, it is a small village with a small market, thick forests and agricultural fields.

The path goes through Khecheopalri Lake, which is the most sacred lake in Western Sikkim. There you will stop to watch the morning activities of the monks and nuns. From there, you will walk for about 3 to 4 hours to Yukson. The path crosses temperate vegetation rich in birds and hamlets. Overnight at the hotel in Yukson.

Day 10: Yukson - Kewzing

After your breakfast, you will go to Kewzing to continue your tour in India. To do this, you will walk through the unspoiled countryside of Western Sikkim to reach the Tashiding Monastery where you will take a short break.

From there, drive to Kewzing. Upon arrival, check into a guest house, then have lunch.

In the afternoon, you will discover the terraced agricultural fields of the village followed by a visit to a school. After that, you can play a football game.

Day 11: Kewzing - wildlife sanctury de Maenam - Kewzing

For this 11th day of your tour in India, you will hike on one of the most beautiful circuits of Sikkim. The departure is in Rabangla where you will come by car from Kewzing.

The path leading to the Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary passes through verdant forests of oaks, magnolias, rhododendrons, etc. and offers breathtaking views of the snow-capped mountains of the Himalayas.

This sanctuary allows you to see a rich collection of medicinal plants and a wide variety of birds.

Day 12: Kewzing - Rumtek

The visit of Rumtek is scheduled for this 12th day of your trip to India. It is the most important center of pilgrimage and meditation for Buddhists. Here you will find the largest monastery of Sikkim.

You will go to Rumtek by car. The road crosses agricultural fields, small villages, forests and Temi tea garden. Arrival at destination, installation in an ecological complex. Lunch, dinner and overnight in the complex.

Day 13: Rumtek

In the morning you will have a bike ride in and around Rumtek. On this occasion, you will receive a bike, you will also benefit from a local guide who will take you to the rural areas to meet the locals.

In the afternoon, you will have a workshop with a local specialist to give you an authentic insight into the traditional Sikkimese way of life.

Day 14: Rumtek - Gangtok

Day 15: Gangtok - Bagdogra
